We partnered with Modwalla, an innovative startup, to create an open marketplace for print-on-demand (POD) providers and merchants. Eight weeks after the project kickoff, we delivered the first live transactions.
Print-on-demand merchants face limited choices when it comes to unique fulfilment options beyond standard items like t-shirts and mugs. Modwalla aimed to bridge this gap by building a marketplace where merchants could access a wider range of customizable products and efficiently manage fulfilment, from product mockups to order tracking.
Modwalla connects merchants and providers through a two-sided marketplace. Merchants can browse, customize products, and sync them with their Shopify stores, while providers gain a new sales channel and control over pricing, fulfilment, and return policies.
We chose Shopify as the first e-commerce integration, as their market penetration is very high among POD merchants.
The platform uses EasyPost for shipping and Stripe Connect for seamless payment processing.
The MVP has been successfully launched, and the first transactions are complete. Merchant and provider registrations are growing, with ongoing feedback guiding future features and improvements.
